Youth and Youth Friends and Families:
Please mark your calendars for some dates that are fast approaching:
Sunday, April 9 at 6:30 pm—All youth and their families are invited to join us for a brief (30-40 minute) information session upstairs in the Family Life Center regarding two up-coming opportunities for service and spiritual growth: 30-Hour Famine and Passport Camp. (See basic details about each below.)
30-Hour Famine (April 28-29)
Did you know that nearly 8,000 children under the age of 5 die every day because of hunger-related causes? That’s one child every 10 seconds. On April 28-29, we will have the opportunity
to do something to make a difference by participating in World Vision’s 30 Hour Famine— a weekend of prayer, fasting, service, and education related to poverty and hunger. Come to the information session on April 9 to learn more about how we can help meet the needs of children, families, and communities in our world and local community.
Passport Youth Camp (June 18-23)
Faith does not have to be complicated, but there are requirements. Following Jesus with our lives demands action. Come learn what it means to do justice, love kindness, and walk humbly with God by attending Passport 2017 with us! This year we will be returning to Averett University in Danville, VA for a week of fun, fellowship, service, and spiritual growth. Further information will be sent in upcoming newsletters and youth emails, but we will be discussing registration and providing details regarding this fantastic opportunity open to youth who have completed grades 6-12 at the meeting on April 9.
Grateful to “walk with you in the way of Jesus,”
