To My Family at Hope Valley,
I would like to thank you all sincerely for calling me to be your Youth Minister. I am so grateful to have found a place like Hope Valley to live out my calling, and I am so humbled to be a part of the wonderful things God is so evidently doing here.
I would like to share a bit about my story and to thank you for the opportunity that I have here at Hope Valley. I would also like to use this as an opportunity to invite you to join me in creating this beloved community.
So, a little about me: When I’m not watching Netflix or reading, I am normally doing work for Divinity School. I am working on my second degree at Campbell University – Go Camels!
I was heavily involved with youth group and as a part of my church growing up and after high school, decided to pursue my economics degree at Campbell. While I was an under-grad, it became evident that God was telling me that business was not the place for me. God was telling me that I needed to be in youth ministry, and He was not taking ‘no’ for an answer. I have always had a passion for education and for youth ministry.
I spent a large portion of my undergrad years working with the tutoring program of Baptist Fellowship of Angier and helping youth groups at the churches I attended at the time. After working with the children of Internationals this summer with Marc and Kim Wyatt’s Ministry in the RTP area and with the youth at St. John’s Baptist, God presented an amazing opportunity to me; the Youth Minister position at Hope Valley!
God is working at Hope Valley. There is an authenticity and intentionality that is evident to anyone that enters the doors of Hope Valley. Working with you all will be invaluable in helping me develop in ministry. This is not only a chance to learn and grow – this is an opportunity to work with an amazing staff, worship with a congregation of sincere Christ followers, and lead a youth group with absolute hearts of gold.
My vision for Hope Valley is to help the youth understand their story and their calling. I want to be a part of creating a youth group that is authentic, loving, and Christ-centered. I want YOU to help create with me along this journey and, more importantly, to help the youth of Hope Valley. I want you to share in their stories and for them to share in yours. My vision for this church is to display the authentic transformation that comes with knowing Christ and the love that is freely given in Him.
Thank you all for welcoming me into your community. Thank you for sharing your story with me. Thank you for allowing me this chance to live out my call.
With Blessings and Thanksgiving!
Minister to Youth
